Security light on a 2001 Saturn L2. Will not start only when security light goes off?

Is anything else not working when the security light is on?Like the power door lock keyless entry gas gauge temp gauge inside lights etc?If not I would suspect a bad pass lock sensor if those other things are inop also I would suspect the body control module. Take to a shop and have them scan the body control module for codes also have them scan the other computers for codes. Let me know the exact code numbers not the code descriptions.
