2001 Pontiac Grand Am trans shifting hard

Just had a used 3.4 motor put in I get my car back and it slams when I go from park to reverse and neutral to drive changed motor mount other looks good

Have you checked the oil level in the transmission and is the idle speed correct?

Not sure on the idle wat should it be idling at and how do I idle it

Just a s long as it is not racing at idle, the idle will be controlled by the ECU

Changed two motor mounts and its ildling at 1000 rpm the tranny still slams into drive would missing a bolt where the tranny bolts into the engine I'm stump only other thing it mite be is the silnoid not sure thank u

The missing bolt will have no controlling factor at all, sounding like a sticky internal shift valve, as internal pressure come on servos activate if valving is sticky pressure builds up and then releases servo with extra force giving the slam into gear feeling, go get a trans service and see if that helps.
