2001 Pontiac Firebird WON'T RUN
Engine Performance problem 2001 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic I have a 2001 pontiac firebird 3.8 v6. Ran fine every since i've owned it. Bad o2 code showing(again since i've owned it). Went into the grocery store for about 15 min and when I came out I tried to start the car and it would run ruff for 5 seconds and die. It did this 3 more times. I then let it sit for 20 min and it started right up. Drove approx 20 more miles with no problems, shut it off and tried to start it again but wouldn't start. Let it sit for 10 min started up, ran another 5 miles and stalled; hasn;t started since (just cranks) I changed out the fuel filter thinking I had a fuel issue still won't start. I tried swapping keys (due to the security strip thought it could be worn still nothing)Maybe a catalytic converter?
any ideas? Please help.

Next time it refuses to start don't wait for it to make up its mind-do below immediately to determine if its fuel or spark problem

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testin
