I'm having some issues with my 2001 Nissan Xterra 4x2 3.3l V6 automatic. At times while turning the steering wheel I will loose the power steering/power assist. I have replaced the power steering pump, gear box, hoses and have made sure that the power steering lines at not clogged. I suppose that only other thing that I have not changed was the power steering pressure switch. I'm really at my wits end at this point. Any other suggestions would be a great help. Thank you. David K.

Remove the power steering fluid reservoir and check for clogging internally.

Can you pls be more specific as to how to check for a clog in the lines; and are you talking about checking for a clog on all power steering lines or what?

What I mean is the reservoir. Inside the reservoir there is a filter that if it gets clogged, can result in pressure loss as insufficient fluid can get past to the pump.
