My 2001 Ford Focus seems to have an oil leak. When I came out to my car to go home there was a puddle in front of the car and the oil level was very low. I put a half quart of oil in the car and looked underneath to see if there was an active drip and did not see anything. When I came back the next day to check on it there was no oil in the drip pan I left underneath. My mechanic is 8 city-driving miles away. If I dump a bunch of oil in the car before I leave, can I drive my car up to the shop, or should I pay to get it towed?

Tough call fill with oil run engine does it leak? If yes let idle for 10 mins. Check oil how much down. This will give some idea of amount of oil lost in 10 mins. Calculate time to shop bring oil along and stop and refill if needed
