2001 Dodge Durango Repair Question
2001 Durango AC compressor
Today I had the same happen to me. FUN FUN aint it....I have been having nothing but problems with this dang truck for the past few months. 1st it was the flasher relay, that was a chore to get to and replace. Then my truck all of a sudden didnt start. Well, after replacing the fuel pump then the cam shaft sensor it ended up just being the dang crank shaft sensor. 400 bucks later a 30 buck part. Nice. NOW, this past few weeks my truck has been making noises. At first it sounded like my engine was knocking, so I went to have my friend that is a mechanic to listen. He said it was not the engine. So, the noise started to make different noise. This morning, while pulling into my garage my all of a sudden my truck started to squeal really loud, smoke came from under the hood and I smelt burning. My truck also wouldn't move, glad I got it in the garage far enough..lol. Well, I popped the hood and the serpentine belt had snapped. I called a friend and he had told me to move all the pulleys and the one that wont spin is the one that has seized. Its the AC compressor pump. So, since it is winter here in Minnesota, Im pretty sure I dont need the AC at the moment and need to figure out how to bypass the AC compressor. Dont have the money to by a Whole new compressor at the moment...BLAH. So let me know what you find out. email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able. Thank you so much.
