Volkswagen Beetle Sensor Problem

Have a 2000 beetle that won't shift out of 2nd gear. Already replaced the wiring harness and the valve body in the trans, now I get 2 codes, one is P0722 which is the output of the speed sensor circuit no signal and the other is P0730 and is gear incorrect ratio. Don't want to sell the car but if I can't figure something out its just scrap metal, gonna start by replacing wheel speed sensors, any ideas on the gear incorrect ratio? Help!

"replace wheel speed sensors"... why?

I assume that was a typo.

Replace the "output speed sensor" on the transmission.

Thanks for the reply, I meant output speed sensor. Any ideas what incorrect gear ratio means? Maybe the speed sensor will fix it

Yes, I believe the gear ratio code will go away once the shifting comes back.
