Engine is a 1.6. I'm ready to take the camshafts and head off so I can replace the gasket. My question is, can I leave the sprockets on and just loosing the cam bolts?

Good morning,

That is what I do to keep the valves from hitting the pistons when the belt is removed.

Yes, I know do I have to pull the sprockets off or can I leave them on to pull the camshafts off? And one of my bolts is stripped I was going to grab that Irvin bolt extractor kit. Any ideas?

Sprockets can stay on.

Stripped or broken?

Number 12 on your map. Is stripped. I got all the other ones off. And should I tap it with something so they pop off?

You will have to tap the hole again to the original size. Take one of the good bolts to a parts store and get a tap that matches the threads for the bolt. I would get the replacement bolt there as well.

Hey I got it off okay. Thank God. But now I need to change the oil pan. Its leaking by the crankshaft. I got the pulley and flywheel off. How do I get the puller off so I can put that gasket underneath the water pump. Number 34 and 37 I want to change the gasket. Can you help me?

Okay, by site rules, we can only address one issue per question. Since I addressed the original issue, please start a new question and I will be happy to help with the oil pan process.
