Is the speedo working properly? Have you had the computer scanned for trouble codes?

Check for trouble codes. They should point you in the right direction. If no codes are present I would check the transmission pressure cable up at the throttle body here are instructions for the cable in the image below. Check out the images (Below). Please let us know what you find.
