On my Kia sportage was driving along when it just died and would not restart. Before I go into what it won't do let me first tell you the history. It had been running hot. As a girl I kneww T stat. So after 4 stats changed water pump then fan clutch. The last 3 days every morning it had to be jump started. Ran fine. Then New Years day 1/2 way home it said Nope I am not doing it. Checked fuel pump externally to different source and it is working fine. Put in back in no power to pump. Jumped relays EGI and fuel pump relay. Nope nothing. Acts like it wants to go but not getting any fuel. I know but sprayed starter fluid and nope still won't turn over. Can't find emergency shut off switch, someone suggested cam shaft sensor. I didn't have a volt meter with me at the time so I really don't know the voltage coming out of relay. Today will be taking that baby with me. No codes showed up on reader. Any suggestions. I have a van I could drive but u put $10 bucks of gas in it and it just giggles. And considering I am 20 miles from anything I need the small car.

Have the compression tested. The overheating could have caused the head gasket to fail.
Did you check for sparks?
