2000 sonata power window rf inoperable change master control changed motor&switch have continuity from master to sw at rf have continuity&voltage from sw to motor at plug including when plugged into motor took motor out of regulator and it didnt work unless right front window wont work cked for power to motor 12v motor wont turn pulled motor hot wired from battery n ground it spins reverse wires spins other way. Changed switch and other switch wont spin motor unless I add separate ground at motor, to opposite side of hot voltage being weather sw is in up or down position blue or brwn wires at motor changed master switch also when I put the check it switch back on rear door I had trouble with that window at door sw. And master sw. Did same thing yesterday but rear door borrowed sw started working fine today put rear door motor up front got all the same scenario just so you know I checked to see that lockout wasnt engaged during my problem. This all started after car was recovered by tow yard after being stolen w/keys and left locked on side of road.

The motors should be grounded through the door. However, do both sides work if you run a seperate ground? There could be a bad or weak body ground somewhere.

Both motors worked off car w/seperate battery.I found that the slide on connectors though sliding all the way and snapped into place on the motor and switch, werent making contact. Used slim screwdriver to create an interferrance fit tightening the sliding contact inside both plugs "motor&switch"then things started working still have trouble w/switch only working 1 direction down hot wired to go back up. Replacing switch thanx 4hlp and the reply

Hi. In searching my PW problems I see Mattcon9 had the exact same issue. RF window will only go down from the RF sw and will not come back up. Master sw is new and it won't work RF window at all but works the other 3 windows perfectly. I have 12V from the master sw to the RF. 3 wires total have 12V. Darker blue is constant 12V. The lighter blue is 12V up and brown is 12V down. I've swapped the RF sw with both switches from the back doors. The RF sw will work both rear doors but the is still no change in RF operation. With the motor plugged up when holding RF sw for down operation the brown wire to the motor gets 12V. When holding the sw for up operation both the blue and brown to the motor see 12V. At this point the cancel each other out and so nothing happens. What can be the cause?
