I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3 liter. The engine starts and idles real low and then dies.

How long since a tune-up? Clean the throttle-body and iac/idle air control. Any applicable trouble codes? To check for codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader. Some of the national brand autostores used to check codes for free.

Any idle issues, I clean the throttle-body and check the iac where applicable. Yes, you do have a throttle-body.
