This is more of a just wondering question I have a 2000 ford ranger when i'm driving it normally shifts around 2000 rpms. On the second time it goes to shift the engine rpm jumps up to 2500 rpms just before it shifts without me pushing on the accelerator to cause the jump. I was just wondering if its a flaw of the truck or its something to be worried about?

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? When is the last time you serviced the transmission?
