Hello,
i have been using my 2000 ford mustang (v6) with. The key broken in half. One half is stuck inside the ignition and the other is on my key chain with the chip. It has been working fine with no problems. Recently I had the trany on it changed. Now, the ignition turns on but the car will not start. Would it have something to do with some security sensors? What can I do? Please help

thank you

Seems the transmission work has left something out causing the problem. Recheck the starter wiring and other wireharness connections. Ensure ground circuits are good. Check the Park Neutral Position switch adjustment.

Try shifting to N to see if you can start.

Btw are able to crank without starting or unable to crank at all?

Hi, I did just notice that the 'theft' symbol does flash when I attempt to start it. I have rechecked all of the wiring and all seems to be good. Even had tried with moving around from neutral to park. That's the weird thing, i'm not getting any crank at all :/
Thanks for your help KHLow

That means the security system is triggerred. You would not be able to crank.

During transmission removal the battery was disconnected and afgter reconnecting, the security system would be triggerred.

If you have a spare key, ensure the ignition is turned to lock position. Close all doors and use the key to lock and unlock driver's door and retest. If it fails to work, repeat with passenger door.
