Is there any way to disable the ignition theft protection feature in an 1997 Ford Mustang to avoid having to tow it to the dealer in order to get a new key programed, or is there any way to program a new key myself without taking the car to the dealer?

There should be a procedure in the owners manual to allow you to program new keys for the vehicle.

I found a procedure but I have to have the original key in order to program another key.
