2000 chevy silverado 5.3L My truck ran out of gas and after putting gas in the tank truck still wouldn't start so I replaced the fuel pump and the filter (thinking that when it ran out of gas it pulled all the debris up in the pump and locked it up) the truck still won't start and it's not even getting any gas to the motor please help me to resolve this problem?

After replacement of the fuel pump, did you test if the pump is working correctly?

The problem might not have been due to running out of gas but rather something had failed.

Check the ECM B fuse( 20 A) and fuel pump relay in underhood junction box. Remove the fuel pump relay and use a fused jumper to connect terminals #30 and #87 to test if fuel pump works.
