Air conditioning went out trying to bypass with shorter belt but the belts touch groove sides on alternator and water pump is there a way for them to not touch?

Thank you CJ Medevac you answered my question all part stores here said you can bypass just have to find right size belt well after 7 returns we were about to give up. But yes they do have bypass pulley $45 so I guess we will have to go that route and again thank you all your information was very helpful.

I'M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO HELP YOU!

IN ATTEMPTING A "RE-ROUTE" WITH A SHORTER BELT, ONE MUST CONSIDER THAT THE "CRANKSHAFT PULLEY" IS THE "DRIVE PULLEY" IT REALLY NEEDS "MORE BELT CONTACT" OR RATHER "MORE BELT FRICTION" IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO TURN THE LOADED DOWN BELT (ACCESSORIES) WITHOUT THE BELT SLIPPING.

I PONDERED OVER POSSIBLE OPTIONS USING PEN AND PAPER AND THE DIAGRAM BELOW, BEFORE I FIGGERED OUT THAT IT JUST WUDDN'T HAPPENING WITHOUT AN "IMPOSTOR" A/C PULLEY IN THE SYSTEM.

I HOPE THE PROMO CODE THING WILL SAVE YOU SOME FUNDAGE!
