Igniton switch? Help

99 corolla, sometimes driving and suddenly dash lights, a/c and power windows stop working, they just come off. Is that a bad ignition switch? Now the car wont even start.

What does it do when the key is turned? Lights out?

If the key is turned to the acc postion everything works. As soon as I try to start the gauges go out the A/c goes off. Radio goes haywire. And when I try to start there is no sound not even a click just everything is totally dead.

Check battery and cables, especially grounds. It sounds like it is shorting.
