When I turn on ignition switch engine does na da; nothing. 5 to 10 seconds later engine wants to start?? battery or starter not sure which; ignition does not click or any noise heard:

Since it is a manual, the clutch safety switch is a possible cause. This prevents the car from being started without depressing clutch.

Inspect switch and make sure that it is adjusted properly.

It could also be the ign. switch, or a bad battery connection. But I would start with clutch switch.
