I've only had the car for 3 weeks once running the car runs fine but on occassion it wont start it ticks over when turning the key but doesn't seem to fire up. Have been told it could be a faulty fuel pump relay by people that this could be a common fault but not being that mechanically minded i'm not sure. Hope you can help.

We can only tell you how to go about and you need to perform testings to find out the cause. common faults does not mean that it is definitely the cause of your problem. Check the above link for more details and if you know what is causing the problem and need advise how to proceed from there, let us know.
