Have a 1999 sl2. Temp sensor changed, coolant flushed, new thermostat. STILL, very little heat. Have to run recirc, or the heater core cools down and I get cool air - can't run the blower to high or same result! Temp gauge reads higher since new temp sensor installed also !

You need a new heater core. Everything else is working properly but heater core is restricted which causes less hot water to pass thru the core resulting in less heat and rapid cooling.

I would see if you only had one hot heater hose that would indicate you a flow issue thru the heater core.

Thanks everyone for you tips on my heater problems in the SL2. I will try feeling for temp differences between the two hoses. But, I feel you are both right about a possible flow through issue in that core.

Thanks so much!
