What will cause a van to act like it is going to back fire?

My Mom has a 1999 Montana Pontiac, First thing in the morning the van does not want to get moving it acts like it is going to back fire, giving it gas it spits and sputters, after about 15 min. It is ok the rest of the day. We put it on the dignostic machine and replaced the calaytic converter on it, replaced sensor, replaced fuel filter and pump. Do you know what it could be I have already had 3 mechanics look at it.

There are a few things that can cause backfires. First you have to access if the misfire is actually coming out the exhaust or back out through the intake.
There is a good walk through that will help you to diagnsoe which type of backfire it is and possible reasons and solutions.
