1999 Plymouth Voyager mileage: 160,000. The Rpm's rise to 2000 when my car is in park or neutral. This just recently started happening. It usually idles just above 1000. When I put it in any gear without giving gas it drops back to the normal 1 position. We had the timing chain replaced about a month ago, but it was running fine until this week.

Answer: Your car may be ready for a major tune-up including spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter. Also, perform a fuel pump pressure test. Clean fuel injection system including throttle bore, idle speed control motor and passages. If problem still exists, scan computer for trouble codes.
