Could this problem cause car to spew water out of overflow bottle
I have a 1999 olds 88. if I drive around town with a lot of stop and go, check engine light comes on. After the car has sat for a while and I start it again the light is off. tried to get a code reading from auto store but forgot what it was. Now I cant get to store when light is on.

It doesnt matter if the light is on there still should be a stored code.I need the exact code numbers to help you further.

If the code is anything to do with engine coolant temperature, it can result in coolant spewing out as the cooling fans might not be working resulting in overheating. You would still need to get the code to reconfirm.

The spewing coolant be a bad coolant cap also.
