My '99 Continental engine turns over fine but sometimes doesn't fire up. Then sometimes runs erratic/stalls. Then starts and runs smoothe. What could be the cause? Thanks.

Do you have a check engine light and when was the last tune-up

Check and test the idle air control, EGR valve and MAF sensor-

months ago my mechanic said my check engine light was because of gas tank filler tube leak. last tune up: 2 years. this problem started 2 weeks ago and has gotten more frequent. when it starts it runs like a dream, so I'm guessing its not air, EGR, MAF. How 'bout ignition switch or fuel pump?
