Engine just stopped running today?

My vehicle listed above (Laredo) just stopped running today on my way home. No lights came on or no warning bells rang. I just lost all control of my brakes and steering wheel. It will not start back up. It tries but it makes a awful noise then shuts off. There are no checking lights or any kind of code flashing. Can you help me with some possibilities of what could be wrong? Thanks, Ronds.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have a faulty crank sensor.
A faulty crank sensor can have intermittent engine stall, random misfires.
When crank position sensor fails, it will stall the engine. It may or may not produce a DTC.
