Recently had some trouble starting my truck

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L and recently I have had some trouble starting it. Sometimes it starts just fine but other times it sounds like its starting but then shuts off. It will eventually start if I wait 15 minutes or more. Any idea of what may be wrong?

Clean the idle air control valve and see what happens-let me know

Could be due to fuel pressure problem. Check the fuel pressure and fuel pump operations.
