Oil pan gasket

Will someone please explain to me the procedure for pulling the oil pan on a 1999 ford ranger, 3.0 liter, two wheel drive? Have a blown pan gasket and a $940 bill seems a bit much to me. Maybe i'm missing something. What all needs to be moved?

Book time is 8 hrs trans needs removal use a one picec nepprine gasket and replace rear main also
