My van overheats quickly and randomly. The heater blows hot, then cold right before overheating.I shut off the van then turn it back on immediately, and the guage has already returned to normal and heat may have returned. PS, this is my first time on here and will gladly donate if my problem is addressed. Thank you

The thermastat is sticking. Staying closed then all of a sudden opening. As I would say to mostly everybody, before the
weather gets really cold. Tke the therrmsatat out have the system flushed install new thermastat and anti freeze. Over the years the thermastat starts to go bad. Sometimes the old coolant can also clog the radiator making the system overheat.
