Im looking a buy at 97 gmc sierra. Knock sensor code shows on my code reader. Is that something to worry about.?

The truck is in mint condition and seems to run fine. But the code reader is reading a code and it say "knock sensor 1 circut high input(bank 1 or single sensor). Is this something I should worry about before buying the vehicle,or is it and easy fix.

Could be an easy fix if you replace the KS-but again could be a wiring to/from it or the computer itself

The Knock sensor is important, it keeps your pistons from burning up due to detonation(the pinging you hear on hills) it should be an easy fix though. It is a one wire circuit, and could just be disconected, or a bad sensor, and its not hard to replace. I would see if the seller will take care of it for you though....
