Question Sir, I have an older volvo, I forget the model, I believe its an S70?? Anyway, I was driving today and I put the car in reverse and then Drive. All of sudden, I no longer had gears, I pushed the pedal and the car was completely dead. What is the sign of this issue. Please help!

I would first make sure that the selector is actually selecting gears, this is a but dangerous to do on the ground, so i would suggest that a qualified person does this, if you select a gear and it moves you may be seriously injured or worse.
