I replaced the right headlight motor gear with a new gear, and rotated the left light gear 180 degrees. Now the lights are completely out of sync with each other and do not open and close at the same time when the light switch is operated. Can you tell me how to adjust the motors from square one so they will operate properly?

I replaced the right and left head light motor assemblys one at a time over a two month period on a 1993 firebird which should be the same motors you have. What I did was remove the boots that covers the overide wheel to raise and lower them incase the motor fails. Then turn them one at a time till there both fully up. Then cycle the headlight see how they are with going up and down together? I had no problem with them being in sync after doing that.
