1998 lexus es300 rpm not working

The tachometer is not running at all, car runs fine but seems like loosing power. shows error code "camshaft position sensor circuitry #2 error"

that code and symptom can mean many possible things.
* a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
* the camshaft position sensor may have failed
* the PCM may have failed
* there exists an open circuit
* the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
