The driver’s side door is stuck closed, it will lock and unlock but won’t open when I pull on the door handle rod. How do I get my door open?

Hi,

If both handles failed, the linkage may have come apart or the latch has failed. The only way to make the determination is to remove the door panel.

Since the door is closed, it does make it a bit harder, but the good news is there is only one screw, and the rest is held on by plastic clips. The one screw is easily accessible with the door closed.

I attached the directions below for the removal of the panel. Let me know what you find when it's removed or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Joe, the linkage is still together on the inside. I pulled the door latch rod to release the door, but this wouldn’t open the door.

Hi,

Is the linkage attached at the latch? Also, if you are able to look in there, do you see the linkage for the lock? Is it still attached?

Let me know. Also, just to confirm, this is the driver's door and not a rear door, correct?

Joe
