drain battery

battery when charge at 13, 14 volts. will not stay charge. change post on battery. jump car with cable, car start but after an hour or two will not stay charge. driving us crazy. follow through on last question, that help. now this

Is this battery going dead after the car has been parked or while it is being used?

while it being used. yesterday i went for a ride and then the car stop runing.

That would indicate a problem with the charging system. You need to first, fully recharge the battery with an external charger and then read the charging voltage across the battery with the engine idling and no accessories on. It has to be between 13.5 and 14.8 volts.

you are correct again, we did what you ask of us. it is a charging
problem so where do i go from here. my mechanism is an older guy
who help people in the community, work on car all of his life, not
sure if he knows what to do with charging part. is this electral
work. if so will it be expensive. help again please.

It's probably a bad alternator but there are other possibilities so the system should be tested.

Was the charging voltage tested on the car as I suggested?

yes, we finally did test the voltage , found out low voltage, so we
had to rewire to the battery to the moduler, i think that what he said and now the car is running. THANKS A LOT
