How can you tell if your drive shaft is going bad

The driveshaft should outlast the vehicle. Usually, the problem is with the universal joints at each end of the drive shaft. They have inner needle bearings that wear and cause excessive play. Usually, that will cause a vibration, clunk when you shift gears, or you may feel a vibration when accellerating.
