As I was heading to work) my car started acting strange. The battery light started coming on (on the dashboard) the day before. As I was in the process of driving the dashboard panel lights started to go dem, the radio started going out, ultimately the headlights went out as well. I was still in my local area so I was able to make it back home; as soon as I pulled into my parking spot the car shut off (as if the battery had died). After allowing the car to sit for a couple of minutes it somewhat recharged; I was able to put the windows up.

Since then the car will not start; the interior lights will come on and it will make the beeping sound once you put the key in the ignition.

Thanks:
You are the expert, my cousin (who has no formal training or degree in anything) told me not to waste money on a battery. He said that the alternator went out; is that also a possibility?

Yes but if battery is bad it won't let alternator charge. Charge battery and go to auto parts they can check both for free most chain auto parts do
