I have a 1998 Buick PA, the fan will not blow air. You can feel warm or cool according to what you have temp set on, but the fan does not come on, mechanic says whole thing must be replaced, OMG is this right?

Most likely either blower motor or control module. What does whole thing involve?

What is a control module? It just won't blow air, does not do anything, no noise no air right now air condition is windows down, cold weather is wrap in a blanket. What am I looking at for repair?
