Hi Howey and TY for the donation.

Do you have a check engine light?

Next time it dies out do not wait do below immediately to determine if its fuel or spark then get back with some results so that we can continue to assist

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Lets checked and test the crankshaft positioning sensor-the oxygen sensor won't cause the engine to stall

I have a saab 900 se turbo 1997 2.0. Wants to stall while it is in idle or comes to a stop. Engine vibrates hard when in idle. Whats wrong with my car? Had some recnt water damge. Had to replace radiator, water pump and head gasket. Engine stall while idle was never addressed.

Did you check for trouble codes?
What is the idling speed?

Could possibly be due to idling speed below specification.

You need to replace the crankshaft position sensor asap to correct stalling starting issue, note for o2s sensor it is always best to replace both sensors on these vehicles, just to save u some time going back to replace the next one right after replacing just one. Good luck.
