1997 Honda CRV Repair Question

Engine sign on Honda CRV lights up. what could be the problem?
When the engine is turned on, the D4 sign keeps indicating on and off at the same time as the P sign is on. when you change the gear lever to D4 to drive off,the D4 continues to indicate and no power to move.it also does not change gears

Have the computer scanned for code/s at Autozone for free -start here and then comeback with the code/s if any present

A fault has been detected in the transmission control system and it is in "Limp Mode".
If you need to drive, try manually shifting from 1, 2, 3 etc. Get the trouble codes and see what it is.
