Why would my '97 Ford Taurus make a grinding noise when I shift into D or R, and sometimes when I accelerate to fast? Also, why would my '97 Ford Taurus just drop in RPMs and die?

You will have to get the transmission checked for internal faults, the grinding noise will be a serious problem that should be checked first hand ASAP.

Alright. Any ideas on why it would drop in RPMs and die? Or could it relate to the transmission problem?
