Why would my battery light all of the sudden come on. I have a 97 Ford Ranger 2.3L eng.

ti can be dirty battery cables, an alternator going bad or an alternator not charging among other things....

Thank you for your reply hmac300. Had Auto Zone test battery and alternator yesterday, both show to be good. Thank you for yopur help.

there is a maxi and mini fuse in the engine compartment for the charging system. if these are bad then itwould also cause this. Also by the starter relay there is a fusible link. thatcould be almost worn through or broken and do the same thing. It has a blue orange wire and it turns to a gray wire at the starter relay.
