1997 Buick Skylark 2.4l engine problem

Hi!

The engine will start and run and even drive it until I give it around a quarter of the gas pedal and then it promptly dies. It will start again and then die again and so on. Any ideas?

Have you checked the fuel pump pressure to make sure it is within the manufacturer's specs? It sounds like it is starving for fuel.

Fuel filter.(There might be two of them). In older cars, when you let them run low on gas, they can sometimes pick up sediment from the bottom of the tank. Classic symptoms, when you give it gas, or punch it, the piece gets sucked up and then clogs when you release (no gas) it flows back down viola no clog. Etc etc
