How are you. I decided to replace my coil pack due white ash on the towers and vibration when idle, so I bought ACdelco D555 for my car, after installed the car had a miss worse than before when opening the throttle only but ran with power like new again and fast.
After 30 miles had to remove the 1, 4 coil and put the not so bad old one back this was because it was miss firing really bad with p0303. So I had a new coil and an old one. Drove it for 900 miles then today it started to miss fire again but only in gear, low rpm and when opening the throttle still no check engine light
Did I messed up the ICM by installing the AC delco d5555?
The old coils messure 7500 ohms
The new ones messure 5700 ohms
This happens mostly in closed loop.

So you only replaced coil and not the spark plug wires? Why didnt you replace the wures also? When the coils get corroded both the wires and the coil should be replaced. There is corrosion on the spark plug wires connectors as well.

So you replaced the wires when you replaced the coil? Also what kind of plugs did you put in?Are you absolutely sure the spark plug wires are in the correct order you even doubled checked they are?

I have ohmed plenty of bad spark plug wires that ohmed good and were bad. So I have never really relied on ohming spark plug wires as a means of telling if there good or bad. So non of the corrosion from the coils got on too the new spark plug wires? Also what kind of wires did you put on?Also the spark plugs were copper plugs? Those are the only plugs I would run in that car.

Got a new ICM and coils that are 8.5 k ohms from another satty but in good con diction just to test it. It still has the intermittent miss fire so you are right it got to be a bad wire that's the only thing to check again for an actual spark. Maybe is broken from inside with all the coil testing.
They are BWD select they were good brfore all this conect and disconect.
Question the tps sensor has nothing to do with this?

Spark plug wires when there hot and under a load ie spark they act differently than jist testing them with a ohms meter. Also a tps circuit issue would be more of high idle issues or a hard shift if you have a automatic transmission.

I have spare coils module and wires I swap rather than ohm everything out. Ohming those gives you a false sense of security. Is the miss worse the ac on?

Good morning I dont have the AC working
Last nite I did the spark test with an old but in good condition ngk plug and it was sparking very good number 3cyl I mean. Tested it with engine running
Also tried chem 12 total system in case of clogged filter
Today I will remove the number 2, 3 plugs swap them out n see.
Is this feeling like a bad fuel pump? If not bad pcm?
But them fuel pumps just die period right remember on the freeeay does 95 mph no sweat fuel economic still good power is ok too very strange.
In case of a bad valve on cyl 3 would nt it miss fire throu out the whole rpm band.

A spark test isn't a good way to check for a bad spark plug wire that just shows that there is spark at the time you tested it. So does it keep setting a code p0303?If so swap the number 2 and 3 spark plug wires for testing if the wire will stretch and see if it sets a p0202?You could also swap the plug and do the same thing. Also I have seen people have low compression on a cylinder and cause a dead hole or low power contribution but not feel it at higher rpm but it was still there.A fuel pressure issue can be checked with a simple fuel pressure test. You can rent a gauge at auto zone for free but that shouldn't make just one cylinder missfire. Also you could do a compression test on all the cylinders they rent the testers at auto zone for free.I have seen bad coolant temp sensors cause some crazy things to happen but never seen one cause a specific cylinder to set a missfire code.

Well my friend you are a genius I swaped out numbet 3 CYL plug for an not so old ngk and ureka! Missfire Gone.
What I dont get is the plug that was causing the problem fires ok outside the cyl a very good spark.
Like u said anything can happen go figure a new plug would go bad in two weeks.
I recognize talent when I see it thanks a lot.

Your welcome that was a copper plug that went bad in two weeks? If you run platinum plugs in that care it will carbon foul them. Spark outside the engine is very different then under the heat and compression of the engine.

I have never used any other coils to replace bad or corroded coils with anything else but factory saturn coils.I haven't changed a coil on those cars since I have worked at the saturn dealer. So iam not familiar with the aftermarket coil fit etc.
