almera running problems

nissan almera 1996 1.4 16v,my car seems to be holding back when driving along ,i have removed the catalitic converter but im not sure if the problem started before or after i removed it could this be the problem due to the lack of back pressure

Check to make sure fuel pressure is within spec. Next, if the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. NOTE: If you removed the converters, the vehicle o2 sensors can cause all types of problems.
