Description of Problem: I was driving my car & my oil light went on in my car, I drove it for a few minutes, then it started making a ticking/knocking noise, and it started slowing down. So, then I stopped and put 2 & 1/2 quarts of oil in it.I then drove it again, and the noises faded somewhat away tho it was still slightly there. But the oil light had went off. So I went home then had to leave again, so I attempted to get on the freeway, then my car started loosing speed and the loud ticking/knocking noise started, and my car started shaking. Then it shut down on the freeway.I attempted to start it, but it wouldnt start. Had to have it towed home. Its loud as hell and shakes. So did I blow the engine up?

Yes, you sure did. I hope you learned that the message of that light is to immediately stop the engine and don't run it again until the issue is resolved. It doesn't mean continue driving.
