1996 Dodge Ram Repair Question

After a recent boil-over due to broken hose, truck started tapping and lost power. Still driveable but white smoke comes out exhaut
Thought might need tune-up. Replaced distrib cap, plugs, wires etc but no imrovement in power and still tapping and white smoke. There does not appear to be any water leaks around motor and oil looks normal

Get it block and pressure tested to rule out a blown headgasket. The engine is probably getting too Hot and causing to ping
