1996 Chrysler Town and Country car doesnt go

I stopped at a light. When I tried to go again, I heard a clunk and wasn't able to go forwards or back anymore. It didn't stop running, just wouldn't go anymore. It sounded like something broke. But I have no idea what it could be and don't know where to take it. My husband just passed away from heart failure, I am 8 months pregnant and stranded. Please help!

This cold be a broken axle or ujoint on the axle haul it to a local mechanic that someone recommends if not there should be someplace in phone book. However it may be something more like a transmission problem but leta mechanic look at it first
