WHY DO ENGINE HAVE A MISFIRE ON #5 CYLINDER?

1996 Chevrolet Silverado • 222,000 miles

I took #5 spark plug out and it had Light brown deposits encrusted on the side or center electrodes or both so I put another spark plug in and it still misfire at idle, the wires or good, have 195 pound compression on #5 cylinder.

Inspect and test the no.5 injector-Also refer to this misfire link:

No.5 compression is bit too high -could be carboned build-up on that cylinder

I haven't found any injector on this engine, where or the injector Located? This engine do have a Throttle Body.

What cause carboned build-up on no.5 cylinder, and how can I fit it?

A faulty injector will cause this, you can get them sonically cleaned and flow tested it may be a good idea to have them serviced as the mileage is up there now. The money saved on fuel will pay for the job in no time.

Oil in cylinder -Recheck the compression on no.5 I could be wrong on the compression specs-if it is use a decarbonizer-the reason I've mention carbon is your mileage

Dunno if it has one or two injector-check on it while at Autozone or Napa and also for the decarbonzer
