timing chain, 96 cavalier

I have a 96 cavalier with a timing chain that was broken inside the case upon removal, its my sisters car, is there any way to tell if I have bent a valve before I put any money into buying a timing chain?

That doesn't show to be an interference engine. I'll double-check.
